We've been a player in French e-commerce since 2001. There were only about ten of us in France. Time flies, almost 25 years. From that period, only eBay and Rakuten (then called Price Minister) remain. The other marketplaces, such as Alapage, 2xMoinscher, and IBazar (acquired by eBay), have long since closed their doors. Amazon hadn't yet established itself in Europe.
We were among the first on Amazon France when their marketplace launched. Ranked in the Top 100 French sellers for a long time, we were the test seller in the Media category for the Fulfillment by Amazon system.
With the decline of our initial business, DVDs and then Blu-rays, we expanded into toys. In 2012, while we were distributing the Mega Bloks brand, we stumbled upon a small, completely unknown Polish brand: Cobi. We introduced it to the French market. We were very much on our own. We participated in the French translation of the boxes within the framework of European constraints.
Today, we're much less alone, but as they say, facts are stubborn things: we were the first. And not just in France; also in Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom.
